Call summary
The Science and Technology Facilities Council, under its innovation partnership scheme, invites applications for developing technology ideas for commercial application. This supports the transfer to the marketplace of technology and expertise from STFC-funded research. Grants are worth up to 80 per cent of the total project cost. The full economic cost of a project can be up to £450,000. The project may run up to 36 months.
Scientific scope
Research could include:
•nuclear physics;
•particle physics and particle astrophysics;
•astronomy and space science;
•accelerators and computing in support of these areas.
PI eligibility
Applicants may be based at UK higher education institutions, research council institutes, independent research organisations or public sector research establishments. Applicants must be working with a partner such as a business, charity, NHS body or government department. The partner will be expected to make a financial or in-kind contribution and have a vested interest in the outcome of the research. The partnership scheme is only open to current and past STFC grant holders.
