Call summary
The Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council’s DecarboN8 Network Plus invites applications for its seedcorn funding. This supports research related to the rapid decarbonisation of travel. The focus is on developing the North of England as a learning environment for carbon and transport research and proposals must support this goal. Proposals including activities such as exploratory research studies, secondary data analysis, comparative case study research and interdisciplinary activities are encouraged. The total budget is £250,000 at 80 per cent full economic cost, to fund five projects lasting up to six months.

PI eligibility
Projects must be led by academics at UKRI-approved UK research organisations. At least half of the funded projects will be led by early-career researchers who hold a PhD but have not yet held a research grant of £100,000 or more. Interdisciplinary, transdisciplinary, participatory and collaborative proposals are welcome. Collaborations with industry, local authorities and community groups are strongly encouraged. Applications from all disciplines are welcome.
