Call summary
The Smithsonian Institution invites applications for the Mpala postdoctoral fellowship. This promotes the study of biology, anthropology, geology, hydrology, material science, social science, soil science or related areas in an topic appropriate to Mpala. Proposed projects must be tenable in residence at the Mpala research centre. The fellowship provides a stipend of USD 55,000 per year for a period of one or two years and a research allowance of up to USD 4,000 for research-related expenses. The majority of the fellowship period should be spent in residence at Mpala.

PI eligibility
There are two streams:
•postdoctoral fellowships – applicants must have completed or be near completion of their PhD at the time of application;
•senior fellowships – applicants must have had a PhD or equivalent for a minimum of seven years.
