Call summary
The Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council, through the Supergen Offshore Renewable Energy Hub, invites proposals for its flexible fund programme. This supports research and innovation in offshore renewable energy that will accelerate its adoption worldwide and widen the applicability of this technology. Grants are worth up to £100,000 funding 80 per cent of the full economic costs.
Scientific scope
The call has the following research themes:
•resource and environment characterisation;
•fluid structure seabed interaction;
•materials and manufacturing;
•sensing, control and electro-mechanics;
•survivability, reliability and design;
•operations, management, maintenance and safety;
•environmental and ecosystem aspects;
•marine socio-economics and governance.
Proposals are invited across the first six themes that fit within the EPSRC remit and, where appropriate, are encouraged to include elements of the final two themes.
PI eligibility
Applicants must be based in UK HEIs, research council institutes and centres or independent research organisations approved by UKRI. Individuals may only submit one application as PI and one as co-investigator, or two as co-investigator.
