Innovate UK: Biomedical catalyst – feasibility and primer awards

Innovate UK invites applications for its biomedical catalyst – feasibility and primer awards. These support projects that aim to solve a healthcare challenge by exploring and evaluating the commercial potential of an innovative scientific idea or carrying out a technical evaluation through to proof of concept in a model system. The total budget is £12 million. The project’s eligible costs may be between £50,000 and £1m. For feasibility studies and industrial research projects, funding covers up to 70 per cent for micro or small businesses and up to 60 per cent for medium-sized businesses. Projects may last for between three and 24 months.

Projects must led by a UK-based micro, small or medium-sized enterprise. They may work alone or in partnership with other organisations such as businesses, academic organisations, charities, public sector organisations, non-profits or research and technology organisations.
