Call summary

Health Data Research UK and the Alan Turing Institute, with support from Wellcome, invite applications for their PhD programme. This provides in-depth training for graduates interested in bringing their statistical and computational skills to health data science. The programme includes an initial year of foundation training followed by a three-year research project. The programme lasts for four years. Studentships include an annual stipend worth £19,919 in year one for those outside London and £22,278 for those in London, as well as PhD registration fees, research expenses, training, travel and transition costs.

PI eligibility

Applicants must hold or expect to hold a UK bachelor’s degree of at least an upper second class in a statistics, mathematics computer science, physics or an allied discipline, or equivalent qualification for non-UK applicants, or hold a bachelor’s degree of any outcome and be able to demonstrate their suitability through additional qualifications in mathematics, statistics, computer science, physics or an allied discipline, such as a master’s degree or research experience. Allied disciplines may be engineering, machine learning, health data science, robotics, systems biology, bioinformatics, biostatistics or epidemiology.
