Call summary

The Royal Academy of Engineering invites applications for its regional talent engines scheme. This enables engineering and technology entrepreneurs in different regions of the UK to participate in tailored business development and support programmes. The aim is to assist entrepreneurs in refining their innovations in order to be able to secure funding and bring their products to market. Participants will receive training and support and have the opportunity to pitch their plan during the first phase, and those selected to progress to the second phase will receive expert mentoring, training and funding worth up to £20,000 to cover living and business support costs.

PI eligibility

The scheme is open to mid- or later-career engineers or technologists who have been working in skilled jobs and are seeking a career change as an entrepreneur, as well as recent leavers from further education colleges who have achieved a technical qualification. For this round, the programme is open to applicants in Northern Ireland, north west England, north east England, and Yorkshire and Humber.
