Call summary

The Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council, in partnership with six other research councils, invites expressions of interests for its build a network to promote academic engagement with catapults call. This supports the development of a single network that will stimulate and encourage two-way engagement between academia and catapult centres in the areas of net zero, healthcare and wellbeing, and resilience. The main aims of the network are to support collaborative working across the career stages, especially at earlier career stages, to broker relationships with key stakeholders, enhance knowledge exchange and academic-industry co-creation and promote mobility between academia and the catapult centres. Funding is worth up to £2.35 million to support one network over four years. Funding covers up to 80 per cent of the full economic cost for network management costs, up to a total of £500,000, and up to 100 per cent of the full economic cost for the RiR awards, up to a total of £1.85m.

PI eligibility

Applications are open to multidisciplinary teams from UK HEIs, research council institutes, UKRI-approved independent research organisations, eligible public sector research establishments and NHS bodies with a research capacity. The principal investigator must be resident in the UK and hold a fixed-term contract at their institution that extends beyond the duration of the proposed project, be employed at a level equivalent to lecturer or above, hold a UKRI or Royal Society fellowship aimed at later career stages, or hold fellowships under other schemes.
