Call summary

The Science and Technology Facilities Council invites applications for its employ a knowledge exchange and commercialisation fellow call. This supports employing a knowledge exchange and commercialisation fellow at a research organisation. The fellow will facilitate the development of commercial opportunities for STFC-funded research. The scheme is designed to support knowledge exchange and commercialisation professionals to transfer the technologies, skills and knowledge developed through STFC research to industry and other potential users. The fellows are funded for up to six years full-time or part-time, with a review every two years. Funding starts at 80 per cent of the full economic cost. This reduces to 60 per cent after two years, and 20 per cent after four years. Funding covers salary, training and development costs specific to the role as well as travel costs including for collaborative visits, conferences, workshops, and symposiums.

PI eligibility

The fellowships may be held at any UK university that receives funding from the STFC core science programme. The application should be made by an eligible academic at the institution, who will be the PI on the grant.
