Call summary
The National Centre for the Replacement, Refinement and Reduction of Animals in Research (NC3Rs), supported by Innovate UK through the Small Business Research Initiative, invites applications for its CRACK IT two phase challenges. This supports the development of marketable products and improved business processes that benefit the replacement, refinement and reduction of animals in research. Challenges may include research, development and validation of new technologies, prototypes and methods. In phase 1, funding worth up to £100,000 is provided for up to three projects over up to six months. In phase 2, funding worth up to £1 million is provided for one successful project over up to three years.

PI eligibility
Any public or private UK or EU body may apply. Applications can be from single organisations, investigators or from consortia. The lead applicant must be UK or EU based. Applicants may already hold a grant or contract from the NC3Rs and other funding bodies for research related to the topic for which new funds are being sought. Applicants from the same organisation as the sponsors are not eligible to apply.
