Call summary

The Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council invites applications for establishing an international network in quantum technology. This supports establishing an international network in quantum technology bringing together researchers, industry and others, both physically and virtually. This opportunity aims to establish the UK at the forefront of world-leading collaborative ventures in key emerging areas of quantum technology by forming new networks to develop prosperous international collaborations. Networks are expected to lead to new, collaborative and often multidisciplinary research, and some may develop into virtual centres of excellence, providing critical mass of analytical expertise. EPSRC will fund 80 per cent of the full economic cost of proposals. This funding can cover investigator salary costs for the time spent on setting up and managing the network, travel and subsistence, workshops and administrative support. Under full economic costing there is no limit on the amount of funding that can be applied for, but all costs must be fully justified.

Scientific scope

This funding opportunity is open to proposals in the remit of the EPSRC Quantum Technology theme and hence the quantum devices, components and systems funding area.

PI eligibility

The principal investigator must be resident in the UK and an academic employee at the lecturer or equivalent level at an eligible organisation, which may be a higher education institution, a research institute funded by a research council or an independent research organisation.
