Call summary
The Natural Environment Research Council invites applications for its embedded digital researchers applying transformative technologies call. This enables researchers to undertake a placement with a non-academic organisation and help them develop and use transformative digital solutions and catalyse further activity. Grants are awarded at 80 per cent of full economic cost for projects worth up to £62,000.
Scientific scope
The following technologies, applied within an environmental context, are eligible for funding:
•artificial intelligence;
•digital twinning;
•engineering biology informatics;
•quantum technologies;
•autonomous systems or robotics.
PI eligibility
Well-established researchers based at an eligible HEIs, independent research organisations, public sector research establishment, or research council institutes in the UK may apply. The host organisation may be a business, national or local government, third sector organisation, or non-governmental organisation in any sector and must have a base in the UK.
