Call summary
The Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council invites applications for its bioinformatics and biological resources fund. This facilitates the establishment, maintenance and enhancement of bioinformatics and biological resources to support the UK bioscience research community. The council aims to ensure that the UK bioscience community has access to state-of-the-art bioinformatics and biological infrastructure, facilities and resources, in order to facilitate ground-breaking research in an internationally competitive environment. Projects may include the following:
•establishment and maintenance of a new resource that would be applicable to a broad BBSRC user community;
•maturation and subsequent maintenance of a project-based resource into a community-based one;
•further development and subsequent maintenance of an existing community resource to increase its relevance to a broad BBSRC user group;
•association or integration of distinct resources that will enhance their utility and create an upgraded resource with a greater value than the sum of the parts.
The full economic cost (FEC) of your project can be up to £2,000,000. BBSRC will fund 80% of the FEC.
