Call summary

The Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council invites applications for its provide an x-ray crystallography national facility call. This enables research organisations to provide a national research facility in x-ray crystallography. Funding is worth up to £4.48 million for up to five years.

Scientific scope

The aim is to provide support for: •high quality science including use of central facilities such as synchrotron radiation; •the career development of users by supplying technical support otherwise unavailable to the individual user; •innovative research directions leading to internationally leading research. The facility must be available for international researchers.

PI eligibility

Researchers at a UK organisation, such as UK HEIs, research council institute, UKRI-approved independent research organisation, public sector research establishment and NHS body with research capacity, eligible for UKRI funding may apply. Researchers must be resident in the UK and meet at least one of these criteria: employed at the submitting research organisation at a level equivalent to lecturer or above; hold a fixed-term contract that extends beyond the duration of the proposed project, and the host research organisation is prepared to give you all the support normal for; a permanent employee; hold an EPSRC, Royal Society or Royal Academy of Engineering fellowship aimed at later career stages; hold fellowships under other schemes.
