Call summary
The Science and Technology Facilities Council invites applications for its Horizons Programme – investigation solutions for net zero. This supports early development of promising technologies and solutions aiming to achieve net zero carbon dioxide emissions. The following activities will be funded:
•reviews and feasibility studies;
•proof of concept or demonstration projects;
•equipment purchases worth at least £10,000.
The science, technology, applications and expertise must originate from the STFC core science programme or STFC facilities and laboratories. The full economic cost of the project may be up to £200,000 which will be funded at 80 per cent for up to 18 months.

PI eligibility
The principle investigator must be from an STFC-funded department or STFC facility or lab. Only academic partners may request funding.
