Wellcome invites preliminary applications for the Sir Henry Wellcome postdoctoral fellowships. These enable newly qualified postdoctoral researchers to start independent research careers in high-quality research environments. Fellowships are aimed at researchers who want to undertake a guided period of research and will go on to lead their own independent research. Fellowships include an award of £300,000 over four years on a full-time or part-time basis, covering the basic salary and a fellowship supplement of £2,500 per year for personal support.

Bio/Medical and Biological Sciences

Applicants must be in the final year of their PhD studies or be an early-career researcher with some initial postdoctoral experience. They must be a UK or European Economic Area national or have a PhD from a UK or Republic of Ireland university. Applicants must also have an eligible sponsoring institution in the UK or Republic of Ireland to administer the grant for the full tenure and to offer a mentor, who holds an established post at the host organisation, to provide independent support and advice. They should have started to make important contributions to their area of research.
