Call summary

The Carbon Recycling Network, supported by the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council, invites applications for its proof of concept call. This supports projects that can develop processes for the reuse and exploitation of single carbon greenhouse gases. Applications centred on chemoautotrophs, that focus on gas fermentation or seek the potential of anaerobic digestion as a gas fermentation feedstock, are invited. Projects should be at technology readiness levels 1 to 4. Up to four £50,000 grants are available for projects of less than one year in duration. Funding is provided at up to 80 per cent full economic cost and the remaining amount must be provided by the awardee at the academic institution.

PI eligibility

The PI must be resident in the UK and an academic employee at the lecturer or equivalent level at an eligible organisation, which may be a HEI, a research institute funded by a research council or an independent research organisation. They must be members of the network.
