Call summary
The National Science Foundation, in partnership with the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency, invites proposals for its algorithms for threat detection funding opportunity. This supports research projects to develop the next generation of mathematical and statistical algorithms for analysis of large spatiotemporal datasets with application to quantitative models of human dynamics. There are between 10 and 20 awards available worth up to USD 3 million each.
Scientific scope
Projects wll be accepted in the following topical areas: Pure Mathematics; Calculus of Variations, Systems & Control Theories; Biostatistics; Computer Simulation & Modelling; Statistics, Techniques. Projects on these more specifical objectives are encouraged:
•projects that aim to develop novel mathematical and statistical algorithms for analysis of large geospatial datasets;
•projects that develop mathematical theory to guide the use of artificial neural networks for computer vision tasks.
PI eligibility
Foreign organisations may apply provided they do so in consortium with US organisations. The proposer must explain why local support is not feasible and why the foreign organisation can carry out the activity more effectively.
