Call summary

Innovate UK in collaboration with the National Research Council of Canada invites applications for its call on UK and Canada biomanufacturing innovations in cell and gene therapies. This supports improvements in biomanufacturing for cost effective gene and cell-based therapies. Projects must focus on process improvement for adeno-associated virus gene based therapy, or deploy process analytical technologies to perfusion-enabled lentiviral vector manufacturing. The grant is worth up to £128,000 over two years, of which up to 75 per cent will be funded.

PI eligibility

UK registered SMEs, catapults, charities and not for profit organisations may apply to lead the project. Applicants must have established a partnerships with an appropriate and named research team at NRC Canada. Projects must intend to exploit the results from or in the UK and in Canada, be mostly carried out in the UK, and can include UK registered SMEs, academic institutions, catapults, charities, public sector organisations or RTO as partners. Eligible UK businesses must be eligible to receive state aid at the time funding will be awarded
