Innovate UK: Sustainable innovation fund – round 3 temporary framework

Innovate UK, as part of UK Research and Innovation, invites applications for the round 3 of its sustainable innovation fund. The total budget is worth up to £10 million. Grants are worth up to £175,000 each at 80 per cent full economic costs over three months.

Projects must consider their impact on climate change or environmental sustainability. They may also focus on: •decarbonisation, circular economy or biodiversity; •climate change and environmental sustainability; •geographic or regionally-targeted innovation; •innovation that is aimed at commercial or residential users; •innovations that work across more than one sector; •follow-on international opportunities that help the UK lead the world.

Project leads must be a UK registered business of any size and involve at least one SME. They may collaborate with other UK businesses, academic institutions, charities, public sector organisations or research and technology organisations. They must be able to carry out project work under the current restrictions of COVID-19 in the UK and intend to exploit the results from or in the UK.
