Call summary

The European Association of National Metrology Institutes (EURAMET) invites proposals for its call on fundamental metrology, under the European Metrology Programme for Innovation and Research. This aims to explore new techniques or methods for metrology and novel primary measurement standards and foster international collaboration between scientists. The total call budget is worth €15.6 million, with individual projects receiving up to €1.8m each over a period of up to 36 months.

Scientific scope

Proposals may include high-risk research on one of the following topics: 1) novel approaches to overcome noise limits and reduce the invasiveness of measurements; 2) determination of fundamental constants; 3) fundamental metrology on quantum systems; 4) basic research on the interaction between radiation and matter, on novel materials, and on new material structures with revolutionary properties; 5) generic theoretical and mathematical methods relevant for metrology; 6) underpinning interdisciplinary metrology between different disciplines – physical, chemical, biological.

PI eligibility

Internal funded partners from countries that have made a financial commitment to the programme may apply. All other legal entities based in member states of the EU, overseas countries and territories, countries eligible for H2020 funding and countries associated with this programme are also eligible as external funded partners.
