Call summary

The European Association of National Metrology Institutes (EURAMET) invites proposals for its call on fundamental metrology, under the European Metrology Programme for Innovation and Research. This aims to explore new techniques or methods for metrology and novel primary measurement standards and foster international collaboration between scientists. The total call budget is worth €13.5 million. Grants are worth up to €1.8m over up to 36 months.

Scientific scope

Projects may address the following topics: •SRT-f01 combined photonic and quantum sensors for practical primary thermometry; •SRT-f02 two-species composite atomic clocks; •SRT-f03 quantum sensing with single electrons; •SRT-f04 next generation ultrastable lasers — reducing thermal noise limit and overcoming technical limitations with new materials and technologies; •SRT-f05 trustworthy machine learning; •SRT-f06 fundamental metrology for proteins; •SRT-f07 spin current metrology for spintronic devices and materials; •SRT-f08 single- and entangled photon sources for quantum metrology; •SRT-f09 towards new primary activity standardisation methods based on low-temperature detectors; •SRT-f10 pushing boundaries of nano-dimensional metrology by light; •SRT-f11 two dimensional lattices of covalent- and metal-organic frameworks for the quantum hall resistance standard; •SRT-f12 fundamental physical metrology with cold molecules; •SRT-f13 quantum detection for increased sensitivity of chemical and biological measurement; •SRT-f14 memristive devices as quantum standard for nanometrology; •SRT-f15 non-classical approaches for quantum-enhanced metrology; •SRT-f16 microwave metrology for superconducting quantum circuits; •SRT-f17 metrology for broadband — ro-vibrational spectroscopic gas thermometry.

PI eligibility

Internal funded partners from countries that have made a financial commitment to the programme may apply. All other legal entities based in member states of the EU, overseas countries and territories, countries eligible for H2020 funding and countries associated with this programme are also eligible as external funded partners. Legal entities that are not eligible to be internal or external funded partners may participate as unfunded partners. Consortia must consist of at least three internal funded partners from different countries, one of which acts as the project coordinator.
