Call summary
The German Federal Ministry of Education and Research invites applications for its trainee competition NanoMatFutur. This supports projects on material sciences and technology with the aim to support early-career researchers. Grants are worth up to €1.85 million over up to five years.
Scientific scope
The following topics may be addressed:
•materials for energy engineering;
•sustainable use of resources and materials;
•materials for mobility and transportation;
•materials for health and quality of life;
•materials for future construction systems.
Projects that require multidisciplinary approaches and go beyond the borders of classic natural sciences disciplines are encouraged.
PI eligibility
HEIs and other research organisations may apply. Public sector institutions may only receive funding under exceptional circumstances. Early-career researchers that with initial experience after their PhD are particularly encouraged to apply. Researchers from abroad who aim to integrate into the German science system are welcomed.
