EPSRC: Hardware for efficient computing call

The Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council invites proposals for its hardware for efficient computing call. The total budget is £3 million, to support four to six proposals for 18 to 36 months.

The objectives are to: •develop solutions to unsustainable levels of energy consumption in computing; •grow technologies based on non-Von Neumann architectures; •develop unconventional forms of computing; •support a strong UK computer hardware community; •promote long-term sustained growth across the electronics research area; •promote equality, diversion and inclusion in the electronics research area.

The principal investigator must be resident in the UK and an academic employee at the lecturer or equivalent level at an eligible organisation, which may be a higher education institution, a research institute funded by a research council or an independent research organisation.
