Call summary

Innovate UK, on behalf of UK Research and Innovation, invites applications for its call on innovation scholars secondments – biomedical sciences. This enables individuals from any discipline to spend time on secondment in the biomedical sciences sector. The total budget is worth up to £5 million. Grants are worth up to £300,000 each over 36 months.

Scientific scope

This enables individuals from any discipline to spend time on secondment in the biomedical sciences sector. The objectives are to: 1) create porosity between sectors by enabling career mobility; 2) boost the skills, knowledge and career development of people; 3) intensify knowledge exchange between the biomedical industry and academia; 4) add value to the biomedical sciences sector and the UK economy by increasing productivity.

PI eligibility

Applications must be led by the seconding organisation that holds a UK bank account and is research and innovation active. Secondees must be resident in the UK, in employment within their organisation for the duration of the proposed project and named under the seconding organisation in the application. The host organisation receiving the secondee must apply as a non-grant claiming partner. Any UK business claiming funding must be eligible to receive state aid.
