Call summary

Innovate UK invites applications for the EUREKA collaborative R&D advanced materials call. This supports R&D projects addressing advanced materials in collaboration with EUREKA country organisations. The total budget is worth up to £1 million for projects of up to three years’ duration with total eligible costs of between £100,000 and £1m, including costs from all partners. Grant amount depends on the organisation type, but the maximum amount available for the UK component of a project is £350,000.

Scientific scope

The collaborative proposal must focus on one of the following themes: •semiconductors and display; •secondary batteries and sensor technology, including energy storage; •carbon industry and chemistry, including lightweight materials, composites and recycling of plastics, nano materials and plastic materials; •machinery, robots and metal industry.

PI eligibility

Projects must consist of at least two independent organisations from at least two participating countries. These countries are the UK, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Hungary, Luxembourg, Malta, South Korea, Spain and Turkey. Collaborations with South Korea are particularly encouraged. To lead as a UK-based organisation, applicants must be a business of any size and must collaborate with at least one organisation from a EUREKA network in advanced materials country, which must be a separate non-linked legal entity to the UK partners. Organisations from participating countries must meet the eligibility conditions of their respective countries. Each partner must carry out the majority of their funded work within the country from which they receive funding. UK-based businesses and research organisation may collaborate.
