Call summary
The Science and Technology Facilities Council and the Natural Environment Research Council, as part of UK Research and Innovation and through the Strategic Priorities Fund, invite proposals for project S4 of their space weather instrumentation, innovation, measurement, modelling and risk (SWIMMR) programme. This supports projects relating to the improvement of forecasting techniques for solar wind propagation from the Sun to the Earth. The total budget for the SWIMMR programme is approximately £20 million. For this call, the maximum amount available for a project is £450,000 at 80 per cent full economic cost. Projects must be completed by 31 March 2023.

PI eligibility
The PI must be resident in the UK and an academic employee at the lecturer or equivalent level at an approved UK HEI, research council institute or independent research organisation. Public sector research establishments with 10 or more researchers with PhDs or equivalent are eligible to apply.
