Call summary
The US Department of Defense invites applications for its global-X challenge. This supports disruptive research and development of revolutionary capabilities to the US Navy and Marine Corps, the commercial marketplace and the public. Grants are worth up to USD 1 million for up to 18 months.
Scientific scope
Areas: Materials Science, Military Technology; Advanced Manufacturing; Pattern Recognition. The following areas are of interest:
•tailored material and manufacturing;
•multifunctional maritime films for persistent and survivable platforms and warfighers;
•object detection and identification in any medium.
PI eligibility
Researchers from academia and industry may participate. Multi-national teams are expected but not required to consist of at least two research entities outside the US and need not include a US team member.
