Call summary
The Science and Technology Facilities Council, under its projects peer review panel, invites statements of interest for its large projects call. This supports projects that have a significant scientific priority in particle physics, nuclear physics, astronomy, particle astrophysics, accelerator and solar system science.
Scientific scope
Universe Sciences; Particle, Plasma & Nuclear Physics. The activities may include:
•participation in new experiments or missions;
•further development of existing high priority experiments or missions;
•development of new instruments;
•new detectors or accelerator technologies;
•upgrades to existing detectors;
•purchase of new, or upgrades to, existing major high performance computing facilities;
•new initiatives in the field of e-science, modelling and data management.
PI eligibility
Applicants must be employed as academic members of staff, lecturers or equivalent, or hold a fellowship won through open competition at a UK HEI, a research council institute or an eligible independent research organisation. In exceptional cases, senior postdoctoral research assistants of applicants with sufficient experience and qualification may also be eligible.
