This aims to demonstrate how the application of quantum technologies will advance the understanding of fundamental physics questions. The call’s fundamental physics remit covers quantum science, astronomy, particle physics, particle astrophysics and nuclear physics. The total budget is around £36 million. Up to seven projects worth at least £2m each will be funded at 80 per cent full economic cost.

Scientific scope

Universe Sciences; Quantum Computing & Technologies; Nuclear Physics; Particle Physics; Mathematical Physics

PI eligibility

Interdisciplinary consortia of more than one organisation may apply. Teams must comprise researchers from both fundamental physics and quantum technology communities.
