BBSRC: Science Creates engineering biology accelerator

UKRI and Science Creates have launched a new accelerator programme for innovative engineering biology scientists in the UK, in partnership with industry experts. The programme has been designed to support engineering biology researchers who wish to launch a company, or whose existing start-up is in the very early-stages. The concept/technology must have an Engineering Biology focus. The accelerator is open to entrepreneurial candidates with innovative ideas that use engineering biology to help solve global problems such as: protecting the environment advancing healthcare improving quality of life Successful applicants will develop their entrepreneurial skills and create a growth strategy for their start-up via the programme. The Programme is full time for 9 weeks and comes with: Access to expert training, mentoring and support throughout the Accelerator Programme from both our project team and highly experienced delivery partners. £20K pro rata support throughout the Programme (amounting to £3.9K). Additional travel & hotel budget for required in-person days. Discretionary budget for additional training or support services up to £1000. The accelerator will provide participants with the tools to develop the correct team structure, a clear research pipeline and fundraising plan to take their technology to market.
