The European Commission Horizon Europe: Excellent Science European Research Council invites proposals for its ERC-2024-PoC proof-of-concept grants. These aim to maximise the value of ERC-funded research by funding further work to verify the innovation potential of ideas arising from ERC-funded projects. The total indicative budget is €30 million. The financial contribution will be awarded as a lump sum of €150,000 for a period of 18 months.

Eligibility Note All principal investigators in an ERC frontier research project, that is either ongoing or has ended after 1 January 2023, may apply. The host institution must engage the PI for at least the duration of the project and must be established in an EU member state or associated country as a legal entity. Applicants may be of any nationality and be residing in any country at the time of application. Legal entities established outside the European Union or an associated country are eligible for funding when they host additional team members bringing scientific added value to the project, or their participation is deemed essential for carrying out the action.
