Call summary

Horizon Europe, under Horizon Europe: Excellence Science, and Research Infrastructures, invites applications for HORIZON-INFRA-2024-DEV-01 - developing, consolidating and optimising the European research infrastructures landscape, maintaining global leadership. This supports proposals that aim to create a world-leading coherent, responsive, sustainable and attractive RI landscape in Europe, by reducing its fragmentation at European, national and regional level, ensuring coordination of efforts and fostering alignment of priorities among member states and associated countries, connecting RIs to the European Open Science Cloud, and which is able to support national and regional R&I ecosystems. The budget is €23.5 million. Grants are worth up to €4m each.

Scientific scope

Funding is available under the following topics: •HORIZON-INFRA-2024-DEV-01-01 - research infrastructure concept development; •HORIZON-INFRA-2024-DEV-01-02 - strengthen the bilateral cooperation on research infrastructures with Africa; •HORIZON-INFRA-2024-DEV-01-03 - consolidation of the RI landscape - Individual support for evolution, long term sustainability and emerging needs of pan-European research infrastructures.

PI eligibility

Depending on the topic, proposals must take the form of coordination and support actions or research and innovation actions. Coordination and support actions require one or more legal entities established in an EU member state, Horizon Europe associated country or, in exceptional cases, another third country. Research and innovation actions require participation by at least three legal entities; each established in a different EU member state or Horizon Europe associated country. Participants from selected LMICs are automatically eligible for funding. Participants from other countries may participate at their own cost. Applicants from the UK and Switzerland should check that funding under this call is covered by their national funding authority.
