Call summary
The Quantum Business Incubation Centre (Qu BIC) is designed to support early-stage quantum technology companies achieve their commercial potential by de-risking their route to market. It enables early-stage companies to develop new products or services based on quantum technologies (including computing, imaging, sensing, networks, cryptography, simulation, etc.).
The Qu BIC builds upon the Science and Technology Facilities Council’s strong track record of managing support programmes and facilities for small businesses across its locations and the technical expertise both at STFC’s National Laboratories and at our partner organisations, such as The National Quantum Computing Centre.
While the Qu BIC will ultimately support start-ups working across the spectrum of quantum technologies, its initial focus in 2023 will be on supporting Quantum Computing start-ups.
Bringing business ideas to life
For its first call in 2023, the Qu BIC will support businesses developing technologies in the Quantum Computing domain:
Quantum Computing Hardware,
Quantum Computing Software,
Quantum Computing Applications.
The Qu BIC provides an outstanding support package for start-ups. Successful applicants will be provided with:
-up to £50k targeted R&D funding
-up to £10k in R&D vouchers
-up to 50 hours of support
-and more.
