Call summary

Innovate UK, with funding from the National Physical Laboratory, the National Measurement Laboratory at LGC, the National Engineering Laboratory, the Science and Technology Facilities Council, National Institute for Biological Standards and Control, National Gear Metrology Lab, Henry Royce Institute, Newton Gateway to Mathematics and Advanced Sustainable Manufacturing Technologies, invites expressions of interest for their call on analysis for innovators – round eight. This aims to match UK scientists and facilities with companies that have analysis or measurement problems affecting an existing process, product or service. The total budget is £3 million. The total project costs should be between £15,000 and £120,000 and funding may cover up to 60 per cent of eligible costs. Projects may last between three and six months. (Forecasted date for next year's call).

Scientific scope

Applicants must outline what the benefits of solving the problem is, such as improved productivity or competitiveness. The following problems will only be considered: •are related to the measurement or analysis of some quantities or properties of an existing process, product or service; •are not effectively solvable by simple off the shelf methods or techniques.

PI eligibility

Applicants must be UK registered businesses of any size. They must carry out all of its project work in the UK and intend to exploit the results from or in the UK. Applicant can only submit one application.
