Innovate UK invites applications for its digitalisation and automation of medicines R&D and manufacture funding opportunity. This supports digitalised and automated data collection technology innovation and implementation for pharmaceutical development and manufacturing. The budget is £5 million. Grants are worth between £100,000 and £1m each for two years. The percentage of total eligible project costs that may be funded depends on the type and size of the applicant organisation. PI eligibility

The lead organisation must be a UK registered business of any size, a research and technology organisation (RTO), a charity, not-for-profit or public sector organisation. It must collaborate with other UK registered organisations and involve at least one SME. If the lead organisation is an RTO it must collaborate with one SME and one other business of any size. Academic institutions cannot lead or work alone. A business, RTO, charity, not-for-profit or public sector organisation can only lead on one application but can be included as a collaborator in a further two applications. All project work must be carried out in the UK and the results must be intended to be exploited from or in the UK.
