Horizon Europe: Innovative Europe, under the European Innovation Council, invites applications for its pathfinder - challenge driven call. This supports new, cutting-edge directions in science and technology to disrupt a field and a market or create new opportunities by realising innovative technological solutions to selected challenges. The indicative budget is €163.5 million and grants are worth up to €4 million each. Larger amounts may be available if justified. Participants from selected LMICs are automatically eligible for funding. Participants from other countries may participate at their own cost. Applicants from the UK and Switzerland should check that funding under this call is covered by their national funding authority.

The challenges are: •Clean and efficient cooling; •Architecture, Engineering and Construction digitalisation for a novel triad of design, fabrication, and materials; •Precision nutrition; •Responsible electronics; •In-space solar energy harvesting for innovative space applications.

Proposals may be submitted by individuals or consortia established in an EU member state or an associated country. In the case of a consortium, proposals must be submitted by the coordinator on behalf of the consortium. Consortia of two entities must be comprised of independent legal entities from two different member states or associated countries, while consortia of three or more entities must include as beneficiaries at least three legal entities, independent from each other and each established in a different country, with at least one legal entity established in an EU member state and at least two other independent legal entities, each established in different EU member states or associated countries.
