Call summary

The Innovation Launchpad Network+, EPSRC and Catapult Network invite proposals for our Researcher in Residence (RiR) scheme which supports the UK’s strategic goals, deliver impact across the UK economy and enable UK businesses to thrive in global markets. The RiR scheme promotes academic engagement and is designed to enable researchers to work with the Catapults, undertaking a project or activity in an area of strategic importance. Each Researcher in Residence awarded by the Network+ will have to align to at least one of the key thematic areas. Those areas are Net zero, healthcare and wellbeing and resilience. Successful applicants will be awarded up to £50k to cover your university salary costs, travel and accommodation during the placement.

PI eligibility

Eligibility Note Applicants are expected to hold a PhD and be employed in full or part at a UK university for the duration of the scheme. As a minimum, the applicant should have a track record of research which aligns to EPSRC‘s remit and the thematic areas of the Network+ (Net Zero, Healthcare and Wellbeing, Resilience). Applicants should also have a strong awareness of the wider context of their research and how they will deliver impact through their research. Proposals must be supported by at least one of the Catapults, which will host the applicant and provide access to state-of-the art equipment and resources in line with the jointly agreed scope of the research. Researchers will need a letter of support from their home institution. Applicants will be eligible for one scheme per tranche. If an application is rejected, it may be re-submitted in subsequent calls.
