ESRC, EPSRC, and BBSRC: Pre-announcement: forensic science for the justice system sandpit

Apply to participate in a 5-day virtual interactive sandpit to develop innovative and novel projects linked to the theme of forensic science for the justice system. We expect to fund up to £1.5 million for all research projects arising from the sandpit. Projects can be up to 12 months in duration. UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) will fund 80% of the full economic costs of successful projects.

We will aim to fund projects linked to our priority themes: - digital forensics, tools and techniques - DNA transference and persistence - projects covering aspects of both these themes

Applicants must be based at an organisation eligible for UKRI funding. Eligible organisations are: - UK higher education institutions - research council institutes - UKRI-approved independent research organisations - public sector research establishments - NHS bodies with research capacity
