The council will fund 80 per cent of full economic costs and the host organisation must agree to fund the rest. Fellowships can be held either on a full-time or part-time basis.

PI eligibility
Applicants may be of any nationality, have a PhD and must not yet hold a permanent academic position. Fellowships may be held at any eligible UK research organisation. Applications are welcome from those seeking to resume a research career following a period of absence from active research of, normally, at least one year. The break may have been due to long term illness, injury or disability, family or caring responsibilities, parental leave, working in non-academic employment.
