Call summary

The Royal Academy of Engineering, in partnership with the 1851 Royal Commission and the ERA Foundation, invites applications for its enterprise fellowships. These support innovative, creative entrepreneurial graduate engineers who have demonstrated an exceptional innovation in engineering which they want to develop further. The programme focuses on equipping the awardee with the confidence, skills, experience and networks they need to bring their engineering product to market. The fellowships provide: Equity-free funding of up to £75,000. A bespoke training programme and one-to-one mentoring from a Royal Academy of Engineering Fellow – one of the nation’s leading engineers. Access to the Taylor Centre, our drop-in workspace and meeting facilities in central London (subject to governmental guidelines). A cohort of entrepreneurs to learn from and share best practice with. Access to our network of investors, experts and advisors. (Forecasted date for next year's call).

PI eligibility

Researchers working at a UK university, who have a PhD or equivalent experience, at any level of seniority, from PhD students to professor may apply. You must have graduated from your very first university degree, of any type, in any subject, and from any university, no earlier than 1 January 2018. If you are still a student, you may apply but must graduate before 31 May 2023 or the offer will be withdrawn.
