Call summary
The Science and Technology Facilities Council invites applications for its UK square kilometre array (SKA) regional centre call. This enables a consortia to achieve the objectives of the SKA regional centre strategy. The scope of the proposal will encompass the UK’s SKA regional centre efforts, which will contribute to the SRCNet, as well as deliver on the priorities and needs of the UK community. The total budget is £7.2 million. The full economic cost of the project may be up to £8.62 million. STFC will fund up to 80 per cent of the full economic cost. Projects may last for up to three years. Projects may request additional capital of £300,000 per year over three years at 100 per cent of the full economic cost.

PI eligibility
The principal applicant and co-applicant must be able to fulfil the following criteria: they must be academic members of staff such as lecturers or equivalent or hold a fellowship, such as an STFC or Royal Society fellowship, won through open competition; they must be either resident in the UK, or be employed by an overseas research organisation approved by STFC as eligible to apply for research grant funding; they must, at least by the time the grant is due to start, be employed by the organisation submitting the proposal. Post-doctoral research assistants who are not eligible to apply for a grant in their own right, but who merit appropriate recognition for making a significant contribution to developing the grant proposal or whose input is essential to its successful outcome, may be identified as a researcher co-applicant.
