EPSRC: Network grants

The Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council invites applications for its network grants. These support the creation of new interdisciplinary research communities and topics by developing interaction between the research community and appropriate science, technology and industrial groups. The aim is to transfer experimental techniques, models and scientific insights, and to promote mobility between academy, universities and industry. There is no limit to the amount of funding that can be applied for, however networks should last for no longer than three years.

Any topic in Physical Sciences and Engineering is wellcome. Each network should: •be a new collaboration; •primarily aim to form a new interdisciplinary research community and to identify new interdisciplinary research topics; •involve a group with a range of expertise and experience; •be based in the UK, although overseas collaboration may be included.

The PI must be resident in the UK and an academic employee at the lecturer or equivalent level at an eligible organisation, which may be an HEI, eligible research institute or an independent research organisation.
