Call summary

The Smithsonian Institution’s Center for Astrophysics, in collaboration with Harvard University, invites applications for its postdoctoral fellowship for future faculty leaders. This supports individuals in developing independent research and launching their careers as faculty leaders while in residence at the centre. Fellows will benefit from access to the centre’s observational and computing facilities, mentoring in research and professional development from primary faculty sponsors, collaborations within the community of the centre’s scientists, and opportunities for teaching and public outreach. The fellowship is tenable for three years, and will be renewed annually upon review.

PI eligibility

Candidates must hold a PhD before commencement of the fellowship. Candidates may apply in the final year of their doctoral programme, but must be on track to satisfy all requirements of the degree before beginning the fellowship, including successfully defending their thesis.
