Call summary
Innovate UK and the Office of Gas and Electricity Markets, through the Ofgem Strategic Innovation Fund, invite applications for the Ofgem round two: discovery, preparing for a net zero power system funding opportunity. This supports projects aimed at developing innovations in technology, markets and standards that help the power system be ready for net zero by 2035. The total budget is £12 million. Projects must last for up to three months and may have a total eligible cost of up to £150,000.

PI eligibility
Project leads must be a licensed gas distribution network, transmission network operator, or electricity system operator. They must work with an organisation with expertise focused on data and digitalisation approaches. They must also work with at least one other network licensee in addition to the project lead: an electricity transmission, electricity distribution or electricity system operator network licensee. Project partners, such as SMEs, suppliers, academics, independent researchers, disruptors and other licensed energy network companies, are encouraged.
