Call summary

The Ramsay Memorial Fellowships Trust invites applications for its fellowship. This enables early-career postdoctoral chemists to initiate a programme of original and independent research in the UK. Fellowships are usually tenable at a university or other place of academic research within the United Kingdom. The fellowship is normally tenable for two years from 1 October in the year of award, but can be exceptionally extended for a third year. A Ramsay Fellowship will normally be co-sponsored either by a university department, an industrial company or another body approved by the Trustees. Where a Fellowship is co-sponsored, the Trust will contribute 50% of the Fellow’s total salary costs up to a maximum of £17,500 per annum, with the balance of all other costs to be paid by the co-sponsor. In addition, a grant of up to £1,000 per annum may be requested by the Fellow for (non-travel) research expenses which can be shown to be essential to the research work being undertaken.
