Call summary

The National Science Foundation, under its Directorate for Mathematical and Physical Sciences and the Division of Astronomical Sciences, invites submissions for its advanced technologies and instrumentation for the astronomical sciences funding opportunity. This supports individual investigators and collaborative research in the development of new technologies and instrumentation for use in ground-based astronomy and astrophysics. The development of innovative, potentially transformative, technologies and instruments are sought, even at high technical risk. Ten grants are available, each worth up to USD 8 million.

PI eligibility

Foreign organisations may apply provided they do so in consortium with US organisations. The proposer must explain why local support is not feasible and why the foreign organisation can carry out the activity more effectively.
