Call summary

nnovate UK invites applications for its launchpad – net zero: collaborative research and development Tees Valley funding opportunity. This supports collaborative industrial research and experimental development projects that grow activities in the net zero innovation cluster centred on Tees Valley. The total budget is £6 million across multiple strands of the broader competition. Projects must have total eligible project costs of between £150,000 and £1m for between six and 24 months. Projects with shorter durations may be prioritised.

Scientific scope

Projects can focus on one or more of the following: •hydrogen; •carbon capture and storage; •offshore engineering; •battery materials; •the circular economy. Projects with greater levels of activity outside the Greater South East may be prioritised, as may projects led by businesses that are already based in the targeted innovation cluster.

PI eligibility

Lead organisations must be a UK registered business of any size and be or involve at least one SME. Collaborating organisations may be a UK registered business of any size, an academic institution, a charity, not-for-profit, public sector organisation or a research and technology organisation. Applicants must intend to exploit the results from or in the UK.
