Call summary
The Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council invites proposals for its standard research grants. These support a variety of projects ranging in length and value within the areas of engineering and physical sciences. There are no limits on the length or value of grants.
Scientific scope
Support is provided for:
•high-risk, high-return research embracing new concepts or techniques;
•feasibility studies;
•instrument development;
•project-specific equipment;
•collaborative projects that cross different disciplines.
There are no constraints on the field of research, provided the majority of it falls within the EPSRC remit.
PI eligibility
PIs must be resident in the UK and must be academic employees of an eligible organisation, such as an HEI, a research council institute or an independent research organisation. Collaborations with other HEIs and industry, commerce or other organisations are encouraged, particularly where they can help research advances and the take-up of results.
