NERC and other funders: Work with US-based researchers on environmental science research

The Natural Environment Research Council, in partnership with the National Science Foundation and its directorates of geoscience (GEO), biological sciences (BIO) and division of environmental biology (DEB), invites applications for its work with US-based researchers on environmental science research call. This supports work with US-based researchers on an environmental science proposal. Funding from NERC for the UK applicant covers up to 100 per cent of the full economic cost for equipment and up to 80 per cent of the full economic cost for other costs. For NERC-led proposals, the NSF DEB contribution is limited to USD 500,000. For NSF-led proposals, the UK applicant may request up to £300,000.

Environmental Science

UK applicants must be employed at lecturer level and be based at HEIs, research council institutes, recognised independent research organisations or public sector research establishments. US applicants whose costs are being sought from NSF must be eligible for funding from the relevant NSF solicitations, as their costs will not be covered by NERC.
